Jan. 14th, 2011 11:23 amI made it to Atlanta with no trouble. Getting out of Atlanta was another story. The snow here wasn't too intense, it's just that the area is ill-equipped to deal with it, so the roads were quite a mess, and many drivers were paralyzed as to how to handle it. This resulted in a lot of sitting and not moving. Once we were out of the city, though, it was a smooth trip to Andre's in Macon, and we practiced a bit on BBO before I zonked out.
Andre has a really nice place here; I have to say I'm really impressed. It's a real grown-up home. My place in Oregon was starting to feel a little like that, after McKenzie decorated, but I wasn't keeping it tidy enough to really look better than a dorm room. That's something else I want to work on, but I'll forgive myself if I fail at it. I do think if I had a slightly larger space, with more room for organization, I could do a lot better. But we'll see.
I wrote about couples getaways to Puerto Rico today. We have a lot of romance topics coming up for AOL Travel, since Valentine's Day is around the corner. At first, this stuff was really hard for me to write and edit, but it's not so bad now. Mostly I just get wistful...I do hope to take Z on some of these trips someday. Dr. P says it's a good idea for us to get away together, turn off the computers and phones for a few days and just enjoy each other. And I want to do that as often as possible.
I had this crazy circular/carnival funhouse series of dreams last night. I would do something stupid, then "wake up," be relieved that I'd only dreamed it, only to be told I'd been sleepwalking and had done something even more stupid. I'd be embarrassed for a little while, only to "wake up" again and realize, phew, that whole thing was a dream...and this cycle would go on and on and kept getting worse and worse until I finally woke up, relieved that I had not in fact pooped in my friend's fireplace at a cocktail party in front of all of my coworkers.
It's good to know that meds haven't dampened my wild imagination.
