jianantonicIt's weird not being in Louisville. I am admittedly jealous and feeling left out, but at the same time, I'm in decent touch with my friends who are there, and I'm rooting for them and kind of living vicariously. But I'm also not hosting my own pity party. I'm having a great time doing what I'm doing. I'm in Baltimore at my cousin Allan's place this weekend. His wife and kids are awesome and I love being here. They like to play bridge, so I've been helping them out with that. The kids are 10 and 7, and super smart. And they're into bluegrass, so they're pretty much exactly what I would mold a kid to be if I had that sort of power
Debbie Ryan seems to have been pushed out at UVA. We'll find out today if the team gets to play in the WNIT -- I suspect the committee will give them a home game, since it will be Debbie's last after 34 years. She was a hell of a coach in the early 90s, but the teams have really sucked lately, and it's time for her to go. It's too bad, though -- kind of Bowdenesque -- she had such an amazing legacy, and everyone loved her, but she's getting shoved out after a sour run. I don't think it's wrong that she leaves -- she hasn't recruited well or done much with the talent she's had for the last many seasons, but it's still too bad that she doesn't get to go out on a better note. I'd love to see them bring Dawn Staley back to take her place, but who knows who will end up there. Even with the shitty seasons of late, those are some very big shoes to fill.

I'm going to take my cousins to a few tourist attractions today. I was explaining to Indraneel that the local tourism department had given me some free passes since I'm a travel writer and I can help promote Baltimore tourism. His reply was "It should be pretty easy to promote tourism here." :)
I'm wearing a new purple shirt and a new purple scarf. I am pleased with these purchases.
