jianantonicI'm so in love with our new place. It's still a giant mess of boxes and disorganization, but we'll remedy that fairly soon. There are still a few things left to move from the other place, but we got all the big stuff yesterday -- many, many thanks to Mary and Chris who volunteered to help without even being asked. What awesome people! I seriously don't know how we would've managed all this without them (yes I do; we wouldn't have). Z and I are both pretty sore today, so we'll probably take it easy for the most part. I'm thinking of a baking project, which will require at least one trip back to the old place to retrieve kitchen stuffs, and a trip to the grocery store to get the necessary ingredients. But I think it will be fun. (Who IS this girl?)
There's a wtf-is-going-on-with-aol conference call this morning that I need to dial into, but I seriously doubt I'll learn anything new. None of us have been particularly impressed with the way the company has handled its employees with regard to the HuffPo merger, but I'm hopeful that when the dust settles, my job will still exist and still be fun for me. I know Arianna wants to do away with all freelancers and have everyone working at the NYC office, but they have said "exceptions will be made," so I'm really hopeful the Travel team is one of those exceptions. Because let's be real -- what good is a travel writer who never travels? So we'll see.

I got my EFO cruise ticket today. It's still many months away but I'm totally psyched.
My father-in-law is coming tomorrow to help with the last of the moving tasks -- hopefully that will be the last of them, anyway. I'm so thrilled at how quickly we managed to get everything moved over (well, almost everything). It's amazing how much space we've filled already at the new place -- it's twice as large as the old one! How are we filling it up?! It makes no sense. But have I mentioned that I love this place? Love, love, love. I need to take some pictures...once it's clean. It would probably also be wise to learn my address, because I keep giving the wrong one.
