Apr. 14th, 2011 01:06 pmI love Brooklyn so much. Staying with Ethan is a blast. He's a good friend of my cousins, Laura and Allan, and prior to this week, I'd seen him twice in my life. Most recently at Laura's wedding in March, and before that, at Allan's wedding in 1999. But we totally hit it off and when I mentioned my tentative Brooklyn plans, he offered his place right up, and I accepted without hesitation. I love that. So many times, you'd have that conversation with someone, and they'd be all "You should totally visit!" or "Look me up and we'll get coffee!" and then you never hear from each other again and no one cares. But when I tell someone to visit or to keep in touch, I fucking mean it, and I love that Ethan and I followed through. Because he's a total gem.
Whenever I'm in New York, I feel like time moves too quickly, though. There's so much I want to do and I can't possibly do it all. But I love it and have a great time. As soon as Ethan wakes up from his nap, we're going to hit the town. It's GORGEOUS today.
I had a meeting at AOL yesterday. It was interesting...as far as my job is concerned, I'm 70% optimistic and 30% dubious...they keep telling me great things that I would be completely excited about if they were completely believable. We'll see. I'm remarkably relaxed about the whole situation. I'll land on my feet, whatever happens.
Who wants postcards from New York and/or Philadelphia?
