jianantonicI'm feeling like a superhero right now. My cousins sold their house! I'm just gonna go right ahead and take lots of credit for that, thankyouverymuch. I'm so happy for them, too. They were so stressed when I was there last week, so I know this will be a HUGE relief for them. Well, after the moving is done, anyway :)
My in-laws took me out to lunch yesterday, and when I got home, I laid down for a nap. That was at 2. I woke up at 7:30, stared at my watch for a while thinking "that can't be right," before it clicked that "oh shit, you have to leave right now to pick Gail up!" Never in a million years did I think I'd need to set an alarm, but it felt awesome to take such a nap. And obviously I needed it. I made it to the airport before Gail did, then brought her back here and gave her the grand tour. We stayed up chatting for a few hours, then crashed sometime around midnight.
The weather looks like it's gonna be chilly and rainy the whole time she's here, which is kind of a bummer, but we have plenty we can do anyway. Today we're just going to meander through Portland and do some shopping, and tomorrow we'll hit the bridge club. The games at the club close to my house are lame while she's here, though -- 10:30am open games with lunch breaks (I hate that so much), and limited games in the evening that I can't play in because I have too many points. We could go to one of the other clubs, though. We'll see. On Wednesday, my friend Linda is hosting a home game for my birthday. I'm really excited about that.
