Sep. 15th, 2004 07:38 amIt's weird not having a daily update from Shelly...
I had my first day of front desk training yesterday. I just had to read from a book and copy word for word onto a fill-in-the blanks reading test. Ooooh. It was very easy, and very boring, but the coworkers understood and sympathized. I really only "met" a few of the coworkers. I already know a couple of them because of the wine tasting or just because, but everyone seems pretty cool (although younger than me. They're all younger than I am.) I picked up a Tuesday night shift every week in addition to my Sunday shift. I did the math, and now I should be making about $14 more per week than I was making when I worked full time at ADF. So, right on. Although the more I get up dreading the start of the day (on days when I have to go to ADF), the more I think I won't make it through the year. We'll see...oh well. I need to talk to Randy about my raise...that will help me survive there. A dollar an hour would give me another $200 a month. That would help. And I'm definitely worth it.
This week will be a happy one, despite having to work a lot. Tomorrow night, Jer and I are going to a play in Staunton, written by a friend of mine. We are VIPs:) Then Friday night, we are babysitting for the Josefsons. Dr. Jo said he may not need us because if it rains, they won't go (outdoor concert). I told him that's ok, we love his kids, and we'll show up anyway, even if all we do is all hang out together. Hehe:) He said that'd be ok:) So in order to enjoy all that, I just have to put up with a 7 hour work day today and a 7 hour work day Friday. Janet has Fridays off, but she ALWAYS comes in the store to make sure we get open and closed alright. She's worse than Mike. I just hope she takes the whole day off for once. Pray with me.
Anyway, off to gas up the car, grab some grub, and *shudder* go to work.
Peace.
