Jun. 2nd, 2011 08:16 amMontana is awesome and I love every bit of it. I'm going to do some professional blogs on my trip, so there will soon be pictures and more thorough commentary, but I just wanted to mention that I'm having an awesome time. Yesterday, Z and I went horseback riding on a ranch in Absarokee. I don't think there's a future for me in equestrian sports, but I'm glad I got to try it. I'm really sore today, though. Why do saddles have to be so hard? Couldn't they make them out of pillows, clouds, and rainbows?
On Tuesday night, I got a call from the owner of a company in Portland who is interested in hiring me. We chatted for a little while and everything sounded great -- he said he'd email me some information, but that still hasn't come yet, so that's a little frustrating. I think I'll call him back later today though. It seemed like a cool job.

Today, we're going to hike in Big Sky, then end our day at a historic hotel in Virginia City. The Pocatello sectional starts tomorrow, then we come back to Montana for more fun times. Then Wyoming, then...? :)
McKenzie leaves for Penticton on the 11th or so, but I have five more days of Wyoming travel lined up after that. A friend was originally planning to join me, but she had to back out, so I'm on my own for now. But all the activities and lodging are covered, and I could help with plane tickets if anyone wants to join me for a few days. I'd love to have a travel buddy, and it's pretty awesome in these parts. If you feel like taking a week off and doing the Yellowstone/Cowboy thing, this is a totally serious open invitation.
