Nov. 1st, 2011 12:51 pmGuam is still awesome. Talked to some folks back in the office and they basically told me to enjoy it while it lasts, because they're not going to send us back here again. That makes me sad, but I'm so glad I got to come here at all.
I didn't do the best job adjusting to the time change -- I wake up at 4am most days, which I guess is similar to what I do at home, but it's not really convenient for the whole doing-things-in-Guam agenda. We got off work early yesterday, so we did have some time to be tourists. We're going to do more touristing tonight, and I'm hoping before we leave that we'll have a good opportunity to play in the water.
Lots of people have requested that I bring back Guam quarters as souvenirs. To those of you who made this request, I would like you to consider something: the state that you live in -- is it bursting with your home state quarters? Sure there are some, but are they any more common than other quarters? Where would you go to get these quarters?
There are no Guam quarters in Guam. I mean, there are some, but I pay for everything with a credit card, so they're unlikely to circulate into my wallet. I did go to a bank to ask, and they had none. I will try another bank today, but don't get your hopes up. You're just as likely to find Guam quarters at your own bank -- or get a job working a cash register. That's how I always found cool money when I was in high school.
But I will keep trying, because I don't like to disappoint, and about 40 people asked me for Guam quarters, so I'll do my best...
