I like Mondays. Only one class all day and no other obligations, except maybe Tuesday's homework. But really that's what Tuesday morning is for. I'm such a slacker. I like having days when I don't have to go to work, because I can dress any way I want to, which means my old style is coming back. As soon as I have some extra cash (it may be a while...), I'm going to treat myself to some new clothes shopping. All I really have anymore is t-shirts and jeans. That's fine and all, but I want to get back to my silver ring on every finger and flowy hippie clothes with birkenstock knock offs style. I showed the girls at work my leg hair yesterday. They were in awe. Hehe:) I doubt I'll ever be the kind of girl not to shave her pits, though, because that's just not me. Though I'm totally cool with chicks who don't...I bet they don't like being called chicks. Ha.

Hmm, I have several hours before I have to go to school...I wonder if I can wake up Jer and get him to go to the gym with me. If not, I'll drag him this evening.

Peace.

I am anxiously awaiting the Scott Peterson verdict. It should come this week. Here's the thing, though. I'm pretty sure he killed Laci. He seems like a total douche - and yet, I'm pulling for the defense in this one. I don't even know why! I think it's because Scott is the protagonist in this two-years-in-the-making-story, and you never root against the protagonist. Just like OJ. We all knew he did it, and we all cheered when he was acquitted. People are weird. Making a big media issue over these cases makes it really hard for justice to prevail, because even if the "bad guy" is thrown in jail, he's not really the bad guy in the public eye because he's the protagonist. Le sigh.

This is truly sad...the sadder thing is that a whole state can have an average IQ of 85. Mine's more than double that, according to some standardized test thing I took in high school. Sigh.

In other news, I've been studying up on anabaptist theology. I'm a pacifist and I'm totally against the military - to the point that I don't even like the idea of having a military at all. I know I am an extreme minority in this situation. And I don't have anything to say when people ask me what I should do when our security is threatened. But I do think if we weren't so offensive to begin with, our national security wouldn't be so threatened...
Anyway in the readings I've been doing, most theologians specifically say that under no circumstances should we use violence. I mean, if you're comfortable with what Jesus says (even if you don't believe in complete non-violence), why would you ever be afraid to die? Unless you've done the things that make you worthy of hell...
So anyway I've decided I don't have to come up with an answer to "so what should we do without a military?" I honestly don't think it would be a huge problem, but I guess if there were a threat I'd be more comfortable dying than taking up arms. And, I think (though I recognize that this is a personal belief) that all Christians should feel the same way. Ok I'm done.
Peace.
